Douglas Stevenson
Douglas is the host for the weekend and president of Village Media and Green Life Retreats. He is an author with over 1000 published articles appearing in magazines of all types. A vegetarian for nearly 40 years, his column, " The Practical Vegetarian" was distributed by Sony to hundreds of readers for 3 years. Farm Fresh, his free e-newsletter, goes out monthly to an audience of 5000. It frequently includes recipes along with information on gardening and how to live lighter on the earth.

Bianca Phillips
Bianca is a writer for Memphis Tennessee's alternative weekly The Memphis Flier and her blog and newly released book Vegan Crunk are making waves in the nationwide vegan scene.

Barbara Bloomfield

Louise Hagler
Louise is a founding member of The Farm Community. For close to 40 years now, Louise has been enjoying and creating vegan cuisine to satisfy the western palate. Originally based on the complete protein base soyfoods, this quest expanded to include beans, seed, nuts, and grains from cultural cuisines around the world.
Louise is one of the pioneers who first introduced tofu and vegan cuisine to the US. Little did she know what a big part of her life the soft white curd would come to be.

Cynthia Holzapfel
Cynthia Holzapfel is a health editor and research writer specializing in vegetarian cooking and nutrition.
As managing editor for Book Publishing Company, she has contributed to more than 50 cookbooks and health titles.
She is author of Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight Loss and Good Health and Coconut Oil for Health and Beauty. She has lived at the Farm Community with her husband for over 30 years. Cynthia's daughter Laura also lives on The Farm with her husband, Louise's son Floyd, plus two kids, Cynthia and Louise's grandchildren! |

Alan Roettinger
Alan brought his extraordinary talents as a celebrity chef to the world of vegan cooking to our February 2011 workshop. Creating mouth watering gourmet meals with a quick flourish he has truly earned the title Speed Vegan, with those lucky enough taste his delectable delights calling out for more!

Leah Thomas
Daughter of Douglas, Leah was born on The Farm and is a current resident and member along with her husband and two children.
She is developing a collection of recipes for a cookbook that gets children involved with making their own food plus tips on how to incorporate vegetables and other foods into kid's diets. Her black bean brownies are delicious!
